Who we are
Mothers Out Front is a national organization working to make climate justice a reality in our communities. We organize to win campaigns, transform systems of harm and exploitation, and build just, resilient futures for our kids.
Our Brookline chapter is a friendly and energetic group that welcomes everyone – mothers, fathers, non-binary parents, and non-parents – to join us in making real change. Our campaigns are organized into four different yet interconnected teams — Fossil Fuel Free, Zero Waste, Trees, and Community Engagement. Together, we work toward a livable climate for all children. Whether you have a lot of time or a little, we have opportunities for you to be involved!
The Favorite Tree Project is part of MOF’s Tree Team. As we promote nature-based solutions to combat climate change, we focus on protecting and expanding Brookline’s tree canopy by advocating for tree preservation policies, educating and engaging residents about the value of trees through initiatives like the Favorite Tree Project, monitoring development projects, partnering with the town to design and plant mini-forests, and promoting Brookline’s Front Yard Tree Program. We also focus on pollinator gardens to support biodiversity by collaborating with the Brookline Pollinator Pathways group, town staff, and local organizations to plant and maintain pollinator gardens on town property, educating residents about the importance of native plants and pollinators, and consulting with private landowners who are interested in restoring habitat on their property.
